I’ve had way too many ‘bad’ days lately. And I’m sick of it. Literally. This whole gluten-free living thing has been an exhausting roller coaster of crazy. Just because a large manufacturer says a product is gluten-free, doesn’t mean it truly is. There are no FDA standards regulating gluten right now. I can only take companies at face value that when they say “gluten free” they mean it. And I’m continuously disappointed. And sick.
I had a mini nervous breakdown at the grocery store the other day. FIVE HOURS on a grocery trip that would normally last 30 minutes. My feet were killing me. My cart was barely filled. I was hungry and overwhelmed. Then the “crazies” kicked in. I bawled right there in the middle of the cereal aisle. I was a soggy sight for sore eyes.
Ever have days like that? Where you just want to give up. Throw in the towel. Hide from all of life’s interruptions. Or better yet, remain curled up in bed with a blanket and a good book.
Well, I have news for you. Forest Gump said it best when he coined his infamous “Life is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what ya gonna get.”
In those insanity filled moments of life we need to take a deep breath. Grab a chocolate bar and avoid the crazies. After all, maybe the craziness in life actually has a purpose.
My God is far bigger than my tiny problems. He’s bigger than my insecurities. Larger than my gluten-filled crazy moments. He has a plan. So maybe I should start looking at these current obstacles as opportunities. You know, the kind that can turn my life around? Maybe I’ll be healthier. My family will eat better food. We will live longer lives. Lives that can truly make a difference for His kingdom.
Is there anything that you’re struggling with today? Are you suffering from a case of the crazies? Maybe you’re better off giving it up to God and letting Him lead the way. Let Him navigate you through the aisles of life. Just grab a big ol’ chocolate bar and hang on for the ride!
